The Book of Shadows Tarot – Volume 1: As Above explores the spiritual and magical teachings of modern Paganism through the imagery of tarot.

Created by Barbara Moore, this is the first of a two-part tarot system. Volume 1, As Above, focuses on the spiritual, universal and Divine aspects of Pagan and Wiccan practice. Its companion, Volume 2: So Below, explores how these spiritual principles manifest in everyday life.

The deck contains 78 full-colour cards, with the imagery built around Wiccan and Pagan themes. The Major Arcana incorporates elements of the Wheel of the Year, Pagan deities and magical traditions, while the Minor Arcana explores the four elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth.

The court cards also take a Pagan-inspired approach, replacing the traditional Page, Knight, Queen and King with Elemental, Maid, Mother and Crone.

The deck can be used on its own for tarot readings, meditation and spiritual reflection, or paired with Volume 2 to explore the complete "As Above, So Below" concept.

Barbara Moore is a tarot author, teacher and creator who has worked extensively with tarot and Pagan spirituality. Her approach focuses on making tarot accessible while retaining its depth and magical symbolism.
