Unlike a traditional 78-card tarot deck, Celtic Spirit Tarot contains 92 cards.

Alongside the familiar Major and Minor Arcana is an additional 14-card Spirit suit, representing the fifth point of the pentagram. The Spirit element explores the soul, universal energy and the force that connects all living things.

The artwork incorporates Celtic symbolism, nature, elemental beings, myths and legends, while retaining connections to traditional Rider-Waite imagery. This makes the deck approachable for readers familiar with the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition while offering plenty of new symbolism to explore.

Nicola McIntosh is a New Zealand-born Australian artist, author, Western and Chinese herbalist and practitioner of Celtic shamanism.

Her work brings together her interests in art, herbalism, nature and Celtic traditions. She is also the author of Plant Spirit Medicine and Celtic Cauldron, and her Celtic heritage and shamanic practice are central influences on her work.
